I have been a little behind to say the least! It's just been so busy lately, it's hard to fit in! We are doing greaaaaat! Busy with school...Have I told you lately that I DO NOT feel as smart as a first grader!! Homework sucks! I know this is just the beginning..I know...It's first grade...HOLLLOW!!! We are just now getting into a routine where Noah and mommy do not end the evening in tears. He is so tired when he gets home from school and I am tired from work and then we have to sit down for another almost two hours and do homework. Well, it was a rough start but we are truckin' now sha! The first thing we did was cut out any tv or video games during the weekdays. Let me tell you, that was a good idea...go us! That TV is the devil! lol...takes away all the attention a 7 year old has left at the end of a day! .....He is doing great in school...He missed honor roll by one point..My little smart boy...As long as he is working hard and trying his very best...we are good!

Mom had her back surgery to repair her injuries and is doing great! That woman is my idol and always will be! She is the stongest, toughest little lady around..and my dad...wow...always there for her and for us! How did I get so darn lucky in the parents department? and the husband and kid department....Lord!

We have all had birthdays since my last post....Noah turned seven, I turned 40...I mean 39...again....and John, 43....He was so thrilled that I finally joined the "club"..that lil sucker! well it only hurt for a little while....I counted all my blessings and the pain disappeared!! Oh and John and I also celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary! It's been quite a ride and I wouldn't want to be taking it with ANYONE else! I love that man!

We are getting ready for the holiday now! This year will be extra special because my whole family will be together this year! We were missing one very special part of it last year, but this year..it's gonna rock~ Giles is coming home for two weeks! Miss that kid sooooo much and I have never been prouder of him than right at this moment. He is only getting better! Look out world! Well here are some pics from the past few months! Enjoy! Have a blessed holiday this year! Life is not always easy...BUT please count all of your blessings...Life is not without problems but it is worth it! Love to all my family and friends!

First Grade!

Hello all! As promised, a few pics from his first day of first grade! He was excited and a little bit nervous on his first day. He was ready for school to start so that he could see his friends..and his most favorite girl..Emma! We went to a school picnic a few days before school started. The kids were all a little shy..after all, it has been a whole summer apart!.Well, Emma's family was sitting near us and Noah and Emma were glancing at each other...the ice finally broke and they ran off to play....Oh so cute..Noah has Miss Nicole this year. He already loves her. I know this will be a great year...so many blessings!
His teacher sent home a "get to know you" paper bag and asked that the kids to place things in the bag that were important to them and would help her get to know them. Well Noah was pumped because through out his Kindergarten year, they NEVER had show and tell and he wanted show and tell really bad! Well..we have a Curio(?) cabinet in our living room dedicated to his birth country and his adoption..He went straight to it...There is a hand carved knife made by mayans in it and that was the first thing he reached for!!!! I laughed my butt off....I can just see my child now...bringing a knife to school in first grade!!!! He told me it was important to him and that's why he wanted to bring it...well he settled on a few other things in his cabinet..I was super proud of him because he didn't load up his bag with just toys...he wanted to bring things from Guatemala...Sha my baby boy! I wish I could be a little bird to hear what he tells his class about his things. He was practicing with me and he did great!
He is finishing up his Little Ninja program in Karate, which lasted about 18 months and is now moving on to the Black Belt Club for bigger kids..He is super excited..WHY YOU ASK? He gets weapons to train with.. My walls will never be the same! who cares! a little paint and we are good to go! I give you an update when the first hole appears in the sheet rock!! Hope everyone is well!

arriving at Nana's for some breakfast!

Nothing like pancakes and coffee milk! (and
cartoons to his left which I was interrupting..lol)

This was actually from Pre-K..Look at that
little baby face and how much he has grown
matured....sigh...

Kindergarten year...sigh

1st grade!!...His shorts that he
is wearing are from last year..the picture

the summer! sigh!

We're not suppose to ask GOD why......

That is what we have always been told.....I LOVE my God! I trust with all of my heart, without a doubt, that he knows my heart and what I need and what my family needs. Tonight I sit here thinking of two families....I have followed their journeys....I have never met these families although I feel like they are a part of my life! I know them from the adoption community. We all have beautiful Guatemalan born children. We all had the same dream...to be able to have a child to love...God blessed us with that gift. Two little girls, Carmen and Aviana ,are heavily on my mind. Some months after Carmen finally made it to her forever home, she was diagnosed with Tay Sachs Disease. A terrible disease that very quickly took her sight and hearing..well it actually took EVERYTHING from her..a beautiful little girl...tonight her parents sit by her side waiting for her to die..It is her time to meet God and be whole again..to be healed. This family is amazing..Their faith is so unwavering even in this darkest time...I pray for Carmen and her family...please give them the peace that they will need to say goodbye to their baby and all the dreams they had for her.

Aviana is the precious little girl I have posted about some time ago. She was hit by a car while out with her grandparents last year. She suffered a severe head injury...Her family is also amazing. They refuse to let any Doctor determine Avi's future. They educated themselves about the amazing brain and they are determined to give Avi everything ...I mean everything they have...She has come SO far..because of her family. She has a long way to go BUT I have no doubt that she will get there. She is a fighter....a little brave fighter...and so is her mommy. These families lives have taken such a differant turn. Not anything like they imagined their families to be. I pray for Avi's grandparents....I think of them often too....

I KNOW that God placed these children with their families for a reason. He knows what he is doing. Follow their blogs. You will know exactly what I mean. It just makes me so sad for them BUT is also makes me so appreciative for every bit that I have. Don't sweat the small stuff...Does it really matter is there is not a space on the living room floor that you can walk on because of all the toys? Nope...and soooooooo many little things that seem important but they are so NOT! Don't sweat the small stuff....Please remember them when you are praying.

Avi's blog button is to the right....click on it!

Carmen's blog is www.beautifulcanvas.org

As I sit here thinking about them...I also think that I will have a few questions when I make it up there!

P.S. I will post pics and first grader update soon!

Well 'my baby' graduated from kindergarten today.! (well he said he congradulated)...sigh.....The summer is here!!!!!!!! I am sure that teachers all over are so happy about that little diddy. Noah had a great year of kindergarten. He had an awesome teacher too..what a blessing! He learned many new things...How to write, read, tie his shoes, so many things! Let me tell you, at bedtime, when it is time for bedtime stories and your kid can read to YOU! It's a proud day. He is totally excited that he is not a little kid anymore and that now he is in the first grade!! Woot Woot! His little kindergarten graduation was priceless! They had a candelight ceremony in which his eighth grade buddy, Hannah, passed along a candle representing the end of her first eight years of school and the beginning of Noah's....I'm not gonna lie....I ugly cried...BUT I wasn't the only one....I'm juss sayin'......I am so proud of that little booger...

A few months ago, he has his first little karate competition. He competed in three things...Fastest obstacle course, creative kata(kinda like your own karate dance, using all the techniques you have learned in karate), and balance kicking! He rec'd a medal in all three for competing and placed third in obstacle course. Go Noah! It was fun!!!!!!!!
We are camping for memorial day and also to celebrate the end of the school year! Looking forward to a margarita (or two) by the pool and some r&r! ...It's sure to be a dang HOT summer....Have a great day!

Well another year has gone by! It cannot be!! How did it happen so darn fast? We celebrated Noah's 6th Anniversary of the day that he joined this family forever! He was very excited to have his special day...We make sure that he knows just how special this day is to our family. It was the day that he climbed into our hearts and let me tell you....it has been quite a ride. He brings so much joy to this family..His smile is contagious and he is growing into such a compassionate and loving little boy who loves his GOD and his family. We are so proud of him. Words cannot express. I know his birthmother would beam with happiness if she could see the kind of little person that he is growing into... God Bless her...My heart is so heavy for her on this day...

Upon checking the mail today, We rec'd a letter from his school. I shared with you all that Noah was chosen as crusader of the month...Well this letter was acknowledging that accomplishment... Oh ooooook.....Since you asked...I'll share some of it with you ...

"Congratulations to Noah on his recent honor he received. Students are chosen on the basis that they typified the model Chirstian student, that is, one who shows concern for fellow students, is conscientious, honest, helpful and is working at their highest academic ability and also a student that practices Christian beliefs and teachings. Here are a few comments his teacher made about Noah and why is deserving of this honor: This month's crusader of the month is as quiet as a mouse in class. He really concentrates on his work and is always doing his best! For recess, he plays with EVERYONE. When it comes to helping others, Miss Tammy and I can always count on him. His kind, friendly manner lets the love of GOD shine! This young man is soaring through Kindergarten with Joy! It is with great pleasure to award Noah as our crusader of the month."

Talk about beaming with Pride......We always hope and pray that we are doing a good job as a mom and dad....this was very rewarding as a parent...Thank you GOD for your guidance!

Lunch at school....
Hello my friends and family! I don't know about anybody else but I am READY for Springtime! I can't believe I am actually admitting this. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Winter! I am happiest in the winter but I have had enough of Winter this year. I want to be outside. I want Noah to be outside instead in front of the TV or Video game! Although, I have never liked summer time..I think I am ready! We camp most in summer but I must admit, I am miserable in the heat. I LOVE to camp but I HATE to sweat! It brings out the Bee-och in me! hehe! So bring on the SPRING time Mother Nature..... pleeeezzzze

We have been doing great. Mom and Dad finally sold their house and we are movin' em on out this weekend. I am so happy that they will be able to build a brand new house...something small and cozy with a teeny yard so that they can enjoy being retired instead of working in the yard constantly! They need a break and they so deserve it! I love my lil' mom and Dad so much!

Noah is doing great! He is enjoying school for the most part...he would rather stay home with his mommy...but he is happy to be with his friends too. He was awarded Crusader of the month last month...aka. student of the month...We were so proud of him..It was quite and accomplishment...Plus his picture was in the paper this week...Go Noah!.He is growing up to be such a sweet and compassionate little boy..We are a very lucky Mommy and Daddy. He is still in Karate...he was awarded his purple belt a couple of weeks ago..I hope he continues to enjoy it because it is such a positive thing for him. He is pumped up to go on a sleep over Saturday to his favorite cousin's house..Rylan and Peyton! Lastnight he was packing his bag already....toys only....then when he was done, he said, "ooops, I forgot some clean undies mom"!! Good idea Noah! Never leave home without a clean pair of undies Boobie! Clean Clothes? not necessary.....clean drawers? a must! He is so funny! The things that some out of that child's mouth...so funny...We went eat breakfast at Chick Filet..When we were leaving..I asked, "Noah is there any place else that you would like to go this morning?" ..He puts his hand under his chin and thinks about it for a minute..."well maybe we can go to Tahiti or Fresno Mommy"!!!.lol....The other morning before school, he was sitting at the table "reading" the newspaper..I asked what he was reading about and he says..."Mommy I'm reading about humanity, just humanity (big sigh)"! oh..ok! ......He has been asking questions about babies...He asked if He grew in my tummy...I told him, as I have told him many times before, that he grew in his birth mommy's tummy and so on.....He said, "Yeah, hmmm...I been thinkin' bout babies growin in tummies (I'm thinking, ok mom, get ready..this may be a deep conversation) and that's just sooooo GROSS and DISGUSTING"! There are so many things that he says that make us laugh so much...Thank you GOD for that and for our little munchkin..life would be super dull without him! Oh and by the way, he is not so patiently waiting for his first loose tooth..He shakes each tooth EVERY morning..They are not Budgin'....I think if he actually feels a loose tooth, he will literally pass out cold!! He is the last one in his class that has not lost a tooth yet...pleeezze bring on the tooth fairy sometime soon...

OH!! and GO SAINTS!! We love our Saints for going all the way to the superbowl and WINNING!!! We were so excited for them! Of course, it's just one more reason for some cajun's to throw a party, eat and drink! We hope everyone is doing great! HUGS!
